Is anyone up for a couple of local dives on the occasional Monday? I'd like to get out a time or two before it gets too cold and start back up in the spring.

Where were you thinking about diving on Mondays?

Best check and see if the dive site is open on Mondays this late in the year. Most aren't from my experience.

John has a point..I'm not sure if any of the parks will be open. I was thinking maybe going up to Lake Murray.

No one needs a scuba park. There are plenty of lakes that are open 24/7/365.

This is not a challenge; could you please name them for us, so we can research them and increase our knowledge?

Always on the lookout for new places to dive, and this could go a long way towards that goal!

You can dive anywhere the water is liquid but most of the places in DFW are
not very desirable especially compared to Lake Murray. Considering your
location (McKinney) and your restriction to day trips you've already found
the best spot in your area that is open on Mondays. Other than Murray
you're looking at two or more hours of driving each way. Most people
won'y go even that far. I know little of the extreme northeast part of DFW
area that is useful for diving. If you find anything interesting please let
us know.

There are folks that dive Texhoma also but Murray is better. All the N Texas lakes are open all year as Bill says.

Good point about Texoma. It may be a good choice considering the starting
point. I was hesitant to recommend it since I only made it there once and
had a great dive. The conditions were good but it might bad most of the
time for all I know. (And I know it must have been bad at Texoma this
spring when it was raining cows.) Lake Murray has a tiny watershed and if
it hasn't rained recently it's usually pretty good there. Reports on Texoma
are rare and old and a wide variety of conditions.

I've never been to Texoma but I'd be up for trying it sometime. I've only been to Murray once but I'd like to dive it more. It seemed just as good as any of the scuba parks without out the $20 gate fee.
It looks like the weather is finally going to turn on us so I don't know how much diving I will get in anyway. I've thought more an more about getting a dry suit but I do have a 7mm I can use in the meantime.

If anyone is up for it, PM me and we can maybe work out something.
