I just don't log dives
delightful day offshore key largo once again this morning: sunny skies, light SE winds, seas 1-2FT. double on the DUANE, buoys D3(stern) and D2(smokestack). excellent conditions: vibrant blue water, viz approaching 100FT, light/mdt reverse current, water temp 77F @ 60-115FT. we had the coast guard cutter all too ourselves on both dives. very fishy; permit, wahoo, jacks, abundant grey/yellowtail snappers, schooling grunts, black groupers, golden phase coney and a juvenile octopus. stellar visibility(100FT) @ molasses reef on the ride in, best iv'e observed in many months. pics from TIMG,,,,,,,,

Very nice

Would you recommend the Duane over the spiegal grove? I've only seen pics and both seem like great dives. For a first timer, which one do you recommend?

Thank you Jumama Ameeir and scubadada.
NewDiv, I like both for different reasons. SG is a lot bigger, with more features then the Duane - but the Duane has the orange cup coral, can't beat that!

Great shots.

Question about the American Flag. I'm going to dive the USCG SPAR off the NC coast this summer. I would like to take down a USCG jack when I go and get pictures of it as tribute to my father and brother. Dad is a retired chief and my brother is a chief still serving. Is the easiest way to tie off the flag with a zip tie? That looks like what the American flag is tied off with. I didn't know if twine would be better since that would degrade over time unlike plastic.

great photos as usual..... .thanks for sharing and keep them coming.
