I have that slider (derlin version) on my no-name BP -- I find the ability loosen the strap quite convenient on a cramped boat.
 
Have you considered the Deep Sea Supply systems with the bolt on weight plates? Gives you the versatility to remove it if you are travelling or have different buoyancy requirements
