Hi all,

A few weeks back we decided to explore this artificial reef which rarely sees divers. It's a bit beyond recreational range, but thought you all may find the video interesting. It compares footage shot 23 years ago to video shot today. We hope to return to the dive site soon and shoot more extensive video.

I totally agree about one trip not being conclusive at all. We were careful not to claim it was. But there were quite a few Lionfish, so it looks suspicious enough to continue investigating. We will be returning quite a few times to see what we find over repetitive dives.

We are also collaborating with others who are motivated to reduce the Lionfish. Happy to post more here as the project evolves :)

Hard to say why there were fewer fish on that day compared to 1993. Could be lionfish, could also be the simple fact that fish move around. I've dived the same spot several times and one day it's fishy, the next day it's not.

Nice video. Would like to see you guys harvesting those lionfish though.
