We have a place on seven mile beach, and the surf the past two days was incredibly rough - 6-8' waves and people actually surfing, plus very high winds. Very unusual for this time of year. Usually the wind is from the north, and the west and south sides are rather calm. I did two dives this afternoon. The sea was still too rough to do the west side, which is normally where most boats go this time of year. We dove the north side (a couple of operator were doing south as well), and it was totally calm. It was actually great as I rarely get to do the north as we are usually here in the winter. Visibility was about 70-80', which is pretty good given the churn we expected. Water was a toasty 81, air was a toasty 81. Reefs were teeming with sea life.

I just spent an hour on the beach smoking a victory cigar and there was no wind at all, so it looks like the surge has passed. Come to Cayman! There is always a side of the island where you can find great diving.

(Btw, went with Divetech for the first time, a great outfit - 8 divers on boat that could easily accommodate 16, and we got about an hour on each dive.)

Do you rent your place out? Of all the places we've been to, my wife love the Caymans the most.

First time there I watched the Kittywake sink. Next, time, I dove it :)

Mike I will take you up on that!! may have to be later I won't be down till probably May.

Flyboy if you asking me the answer is yes.

It's all rainbows and happy times here now...
