Tulamben on December/January

So we finally came to a decision: we just booked our flight, and arrive in Tulamben on the 1st of September, and leave on the 10th.

We are currently considering of spending 4 nights in Tulamben (1st-5th), 3 nights in Padangbai (5th-8th), and leave 2 nights in Ubud at the end (8th-10th).

In Padangbai we will 99% dive with Ok Divers. In Tulamben we still have to decide (any hints? )

We also looked at RA, but the problem is that we could not find flights less than 1.500 euro per person, which is quite expensive.

Are you buying flights from Italy to Sorong (or whichever location near RA)? Or buying straight from Italy to Jakarta, then buying a ticket from Jakarta to Sorong/wherever separately? In our experience, trying to book a flight all the way through is much more expensive. A quick search online right now shows that you can get a flight to Jakarta for around EUR1,000 (same as Bali). A roundtrip flight from Jakarta to Sorong cost us around EUR320 in Jan this year. Pricier than a direct flight to Bali but still less than EUR1,500.

We were looking to buy all the tickets on a single trip. However, now we booked to Bali, but I will certainly keep in mind your advice for future travels.
