Exposure to Soda Lime Dust during SCR/CCR dives

If I understand correctly, that paper is dated December 2000.
Maybe dust filters and soda lime has improved in seventeen years...

I noticed that as well. Soda lime has been relatively consistent but there have been improvements in scrubber canister mesh and more significantly, housing design. Most modern rebreathers nowadays have some means at reducing vibrations (like from boats) that cause rattling and potential settling of scrubber dust.

Personally I'm not overly concerned by the pH values, 8.87, given Kangen water can reach like a 9.5 alkalinity. That being said with prudent packing technique and loop control, you can mitigate the risk of more serious 11.4 pH from calcium hydroxide, aka "caustic cocktail."
