One minor issue I have noticed is that the O rings develope tiny hairline cracks all along the surface after less than a season. Although I've never had a leak that has resulted in my actually feeling water, I have in occasion seen a small amount on the seal, changing the glove ring O ring solves this. If you buy KUBI's I'd recommend picking up a few spare O rings.

I'd love to hear more thoughts from anyone with experience (good or bad) with the Waterproof Ultima DGS...

With pleasure, cutting a long story short, I had the Antares which were crap, the Waterpoof Ultima are amazing! More on the subject under the following link, with excellent glove recommendations: Ultima Dry Glove System question

A buddy got a brand new Fourth Element Argonaut 2.0 suit a few weeks ago. it came with the Antares rings (which suck).

We went diving for a weekend and at the end of the day on Sat, we went by Dive Tech (in Canada) and he bought a set of Ultima rings and gloves and they swapped it all out on his suit for him.

The next day, after 1 dive, the rubber cover ring that goes on the glove side and covers the part of the glove where the O-ring is that seals the glove to the inner ring - that rubber cover had a very small hole in it that quickly opened up to be a full-on tear.

It didn't allow the glove to leak or anything. it just meant that now he needs to get a new one because without it the O-ring is exposed and could be damaged.

In contrast, the equivalent part on my Kubi rings (the part that covers the sealing O-ring) is machine aluminum.

Also, the design of the two is opposite in that the Kubi design has the glove side being "male". The Ultima design has the suit side being male. That means that if you dive without the drygloves attached, the O-ring that seals between the glove ring and suit ring is exposed and could be damaged on the Ultima. With the Kubi design, if you dive without the drygloves there is no exposed O-ring.

Also, I noted earlier today that @Dive Right In Scuba has the Kubi ring system on a Black Friday special for, IIRC, $229. Ultima may still be less expensive, but I think the Kubi system is better and worth paying SOME amount extra. How much extra is up to the buyer's wallet...
