This is awesome @Sam Miller III . I hope to one day be able to do this as well. Now that I am thinking about it maybe I need to start planning the "one day".

Really, any time is a great time for So Cal. That being said, water is warmest, generally speaking, in August, Sept and October. Visibility is generally best in those months as well, and throughout the winter.Curious as to when you would suggest the best time to come?
<in my best Southern accent> Remember only the South is a place, the other three are directions.
Plenty of cornbread to go around, the only thing that needs to be decided is to cracklin' or not to cracklin'.
Corn Bread and Buttermilk with a pinch of salt! My Okie father and Arkansas mother (who found each other in So Cal and reared me here) raised me on cornbread and buttermilk. LOL! Everyone looks at me like an alien when I suggest how good it is. It's definitely an acquired taste.2 Craklin Corn bread ! Love it ! ~~~BUT~~~ Not a popular Kalifornia Corn Bread. We prefer the more western taste, Jalapenos, perhaps some RoTel mixed in along with a hint of Garlic and Red onions.
- I totally concur with @Trailboss123 fall to early winter is always great diving in So & CenCal
3 You must visit for a dive or two or three or more and we can have a Corn Bread cook off while out gassing
(along with a tall ice cold glass of Buttter Milk !)
Cheers from where it all began

Just returned from Wally World with a 1/2 gallon on Butter milk !
You are definitely my kind of guy !
Phil Harris sang it so well-- And he was a Hoosier !
Won't you come with me to Alabamy
Let's go see my dear old Mammy
She's fryin' eggs and boiling hammy
That's what I like about the South
Now there you can make no mistakey
Where those nerves are never shaky
Ought to taste her layer cakey
That's what I like about the South
She's got baked ribs and candied yams
Those sugar-cured Virginia hams
Basement full of those berry jams
An' that's what I like about the South
Hot corn bread, black-eyed peas
You can eat as much as you please
'Cause it's never out of season
That's what I like about the South
Aahhh, don't take one, have two
There's dark brown and chocolate too
Suits me, they must suit you
'Cause that's what I like about the South
Well it's way, way down where the cane grows tall
Down where they say "Y'all"
Walk on in with that Southern drawl
'Cause that's what I like about the South
Aahhh, don't take one, have two
There's dark brown and chocolate too
Suits me, they must suit you
'Cause that's what I like about the South
Well it's way, way down where the cane grows tall
Down where they say "Y'all"
Walk on in with that Southern drawl
'Cause that's what I like about the South
Some how this thread got side tracked to the important things of life...sdm
Ok hamhocks cornbread soupbeans I am happy on a side note I am interested in diving la Jolla shores but really do not want to pay a dive company 70 dollars for a shore dive. Are there any dive groups that would allow me to dive with them. I am really interested in the can ton. That is great Sam! Thanks for sharing. Don't get me started about the awesomeness of black eyed peas, ham hocks, homemade chicken and dumplings, collared greens, fried okra and sweet potato pie. For alas, we'd really be way off topic.
