Finally, I and my partner will be going to El Nido next week. He would definitely want to go into some diving spots around the area. However, I'm not sure if I'm ready to go diving again after I drowned last year. I'm afraid of going to the water especially if I cannot touch the ground with my feet. I don't want to spoil our vacation. What do you think I can do?

I think you still have phobia or anxiety. I don't think it's serious tho but if you think it will spoil your plan or affect your relationship, you may want to consider some treatments to help you manage it. There are natural remedies like cuppa chamomile tea that might help calm you down...that is if you don't want to take any medicines. Or if you feel it's something serious already, consult a specialist.

If having phobia with swimming and being anxious to swim alone can be types of depression, I should follow your advice of seeing a specialist. We actually already went to El Nido last weekend. My partner got sick so we weren't able to do some water activities. I admit that I was kind of relieved that we weren't able to push through the tour. Anyway, I'll consider consulting a specialist.
