Time for me to get back in the water.
Hello from Fresno, CA.!!!
I got certified with my Dad and sister back in 1991 and dove with them tell 94. We dove Monterey, San Diego, And Morro Bay. Then life happened and I stopped diving. Now I am settled down and married. My wife is getting her certification in April and I am going through class with her as a refresher.
We already have a few dives planed. I really can't wait to get back in the water.
Looking forward to having all of you help me get up to speed on gear, tech, and dive sites.
Thanks in advance

Welcome and Happy Diving, from a Northeasterner! I am curious if you are wetsuit or drysuit diving in your area?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are no dive sites in Fresno- It is a agriculture area located inland - Divers travel to the Pacific ocean to dive.
Wet suits and Dry suits are used - individual preference
but "some time in the summer and some times in the fall we dive with nothing on at all"
@Sam Miller III Looks like an interesting conference, wish I could go! We do have the Northeastern Show, the Boston Sea Rovers March 10, 11, 2018, But we don’t have any Dr. Sam Millers out here, so we have to see who else is available :)
I was invited to chat at the Sea Rovers several times some years ago- but I declined for I am a man of the west -- And do not do well in rain , sleet, snow or cold weather - especially chatting about diving in that kind of weather
I hope you are referring to my son Dr.Sam IV who has some outstanding dive credentials :
NAUI (Life Time ) Instructor, PADI instructor
SSI Pro 5000
Mixed gas diver (a number to 400 feet)
Post doctorate in Hyperbarics at Scripps hospital in San Diego
Director of ER & Hyperbarics at the local hospital
After a year long internship in Dayton, Ohio he discovered he was also a man of the west
Enjoy the Sea Rovers show.. the oldest and one of the best
Thanks, and happy diving to you too. Like Sam said, its whatever out here, depends on preference and location. I will be using a ~7mm simi-dry suit. Fresno is a nice location, not to far from dive sites all up and down California.
Sam Miller III
Definitely let me know about divCon, I will be looking into it also. Thank you. My wife and I would love to go, schedule permiting.
@Dzydvl33
Hombre,
After 15 years I just changed my server from earthlink to yahoo ....It is like starting all over from day one
May I suggest that you contact chuck at Depth Perceptions and request he send you a schedule for the Divcon ?
When he does Please post it on SCUBA board for all to see what they are missing
@Dzydvl33 , I'll be at the Breakwater in Monterey going through a refresher and getting some ocean experience myself. I recently picked up this package at my LDS. I paid a little extra for a different computer, and all seemed to perform well in the pool.
Here's the link: Scubapro Equalizer BC, Reg and Computer Package | Dolphin Scuba Center
I chose to get the Oceanic Pro Plus 3 computer instead of the one that came with it. That one has big numbers and it's air integrated, so no need for an SPG.
