The problem isn't the healthcare system??? LOL!! Got insulin ?? LOL!!

You could have just called him stupid since he probably bought a house he couldn't afford, ran up credit card debt he can't pay, and got a student loan. Nice comparisons...... You're right, he gets what he gets. Shame on him for being in a unique, desperate situation and asking for help.

I wasn't criticizing him, I was criticizing you.

OK. That sure sounded like it was directed towards the OP's situation, not mine. Thanks for the critique?

Well... it's hard for me to really understand it. I live in a country in which this couldn't happen. I really do have the impression that Americans often make poor choices with respect to medical insurance and would defend those choices because they have the "right" to do so on the assumption that they would never get seriously ill.

You may think it's lame but I hope you can understand that people who live in countries where medical insurance is well organized have trouble understanding why you may choose to be under insured even if you have a good paying job.....

R..
I find this comment kind of condescending and smug.
Yes, everyone knows how great you people have in Europe with your free health care, but I don’t think you understand the whole situation here.

Our system in very screwed up and it seems we citizens are pretty much powerless to do anything about it. I think of the affordable (unaffordable) care act and notice that every time the feds try something they just screw it up further. The federal govt. does what they do according to lobbying pressures from insurance companies and big pharma. I’m sure there are others in there too. The costs of medical care in this country are the highest in the world, why is that??? In order to have any type of half way decent coverage you have to pay absorbent prices, in many cases people pay almost as much per month as their house payment. Good health care is becoming more and more a luxury enjoyed only by the rich.

I’m suspect if universal health care would even work here at all. We have too much poverty to establish a solid tax base to spread the cost. We also have a new tax structure that decreases the amount of tax that the rich pay. Too much of the burdon would land on the already beaten down middle class.
There’s also a great aversion to anything remotely labelled as “socialist”. The US likes to be the land of DIY, until it doesn’t work, then you’re right, everyone want’s a hand out.
On top of that, the rest of the (non free medical care) world would learn that we’re giving away yet more free stuff and they would all stampede into this country. And of course the govt. would take care of all these poor unfortunate people, while we have an entire population of ferrel homeless people (citizens) living on the streets and under bridges.

Lol...your rant has been stated over and over by 100's if not 1000''s before you......and no one seems to have a solution....just a rant!

FYI....I work for the man and the man provides an excellent choice in affordable medical coverage for me and da family.
