We just got back from 6 great days in Cozumel. I’ve been to the island many times, but this was the first time in 15 years (took a long break while having/raising 2 boys). Now it was finally time to get them certified.
We did the pool classes in Denver & set up referral dives in Cozumel. We ended up using two places that aren’t mentioned very often here on SB. The Landmark Resort and Scuba Life Cozumel. We were very happy with both.
We stumbled across The Landmark and liked the larger 2-bedroom, 3 bath, with full (nice) kitchens they offered. I decided to give them a try & I’m glad I did. They’ll be at the top of our list next time.
Scuba Life Cozumel was also a pleasant find. They are a very professional company & quickly responded to my emails. Setting up the referral dives & subsequent 2 tank dives was easy & they were flexible with the times.
One example of their great service & communication was when I sent an email at breakfast saying my son’s ears were hurting & asked if they sold ear drops at the shop. They had a 2nd boat come deliver some while we were en route to our 1st dive.
Their boat was one of the nicest I’ve been on & the crew were all great to deal with.
As a side note, Global Entry paid huge dividends coming back through DFW. They had a separate line to re-check bags for GE and the regular one was very long. Something to think about if any of you are on the fence about getting it. Our two hour layover may have been tight without it, but with it, we had plenty of time for dinner.
Ok…enough typing. Trip report threads don’t count without pics or video, right? Here’s a video I put together on the flight back. Probably needs to be edited down a little (almost 12 minutes long) but there’s some good Mumford & Sons playing to pass the time. Saw lots of cool stuff in a pretty short time.
Hope you enjoy it!
