Lavacore is Lavacore - it is a brand name for a layered fleece lined laminate fabric. There are others out there like Sharkskin. It doesn't really come in thicknesses like neoprene and is hard to compare directly, but you often see things thrown around like as warm as 2mm or 3mm neoprene. YMMV.

How large were you when this fit well? And .. at what dimensions did it become too big for you?

can use the sizing chart on their site.... but at 205lbs and 6'3" its a bit lose. so if your shorter or heavier then that should fit great
