Hi

We got ourselves into a bit of trouble last weekend during a night dive. We went in during good weather and came back up in the midst of a tropical storm and strong currents and ended up being unable to swim to our boat or to get their attentions with the 3-4 meter waves and strong currents that pushed us away from our original entry/exit points. The boat man could not hear our use of the whistles as well in the distance in the midst of the heavy rain.

We were eventually recovered by the boat who saw some of our lights at a distance.

What options do we have available as far as strobe lights to be attached to a dive helmet or BCD?

Thanks

I always carry a green laser made for scuba. You can aim it directly at boat or plane instead of hoping someone sees your light. You should notify the boat crew that you carry it so they know in case you use. Also it's a lot of fun underwater with some fish chasing the beam spot.
