Can you switch over from SSI to PADI?

To the OP: Others have intimated this, but to be clear, the choice of agency per se really only matters once you hit divemaster certification. (That is, when you "go pro.") Prior to that, the certifications tend to be mutually recognized. E.g., my original certification is YMCA (which no longer exists as an agency), my AOW is NAUI, and since I've been PADI. The switch to PADI is primarily convenience and a trusted local shop. Personally, I might lean toward NAUI if it were as convenient to where I live.

I will be in Sarasota, and I did find an SSI in Venice (Florida West Scuba and Charter) just have to see if they will have time and availability to take me out and do the OW.

Any other ideas or recommendations appreciated!
