Hi all,

Many diveshops in SE Asiaor elsewhere offer OW divers the option to do the “Deep adventure dive” from the AOW course as a standalone dive, since this unlocks the 30m depth rating and has no validity limit (SSI/PADI… some online example of the offer here: 4 Great Reasons to Do Your PADI Deep Adventure Dive or PADI Deep Adventure Dive | Phuket Dive Tours ).

The divers are then issued a dive completion certificate (to be kept in the logbook) and qualified as OW+Deep (ie with a 30m depth rating) - and only need to do the navigation dive + 3 other adv. dives to complete the full AOW in the future.

This is useful for shops with customers not wanting to commit to the full AOW course but interested in diving between 18 to 30m for example, or when a diver cannot complete the course.

Is this possible with SDI?
Do the Advance Adventure Diver individual dives have an expiry date, and does such a dive completion certificate exist - or can adv. dives only be done within the framework of an Advance Adventure Diver course?

cheers
