The underwater videographer accusing the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and the State of North Carolina of copyright infringement regarding images related to the Queen Anne’s Revenge has filed an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a lower court’s July 2018 decision that favored the state. QAR suit appealed to SCOTUS
 
This seems to have been going back and forth forever, do I have this right?
- State uses Nautilus' videos/images without permission
- Nautilus sues State for copyright infringement
- State settles and pays
- State continues to use Nautilus' videos/images
- State passes a law that allows them to use Nautilus' videos/images without permission
- Nautilus sues State again
- State says "you cant sue us"
- Now Nautilus has to get the supreme court to hear the case

US Constitution

This is a federal issue. I believe this issue will go to SCOTUS and North Carolina should lose.

Unless, there are other issues involved. Like a contract between NC and Nautilus.
