What is this? Tube worm?

The Dive Guide told us this is a Christmas Tree Worm. But it is not like any I have ever seen in that it is:
on sand not coral,
about 20 times larger than any christmas tree worm,
has branches not double helical shaped.

 
Hard to tell without knowing the location. It could be a worm or a sea cucumber.

In the fjord at Tufi in PNG. About 35'. Daytime. 87F water. Almost zero current.
 
Sarlacc... don't fall in. You'll be digested over a 1000 years, and find a new definition for pain and suffering...
