Scientific diving, but that really depends on being a scientist. (They work for agencies, universities, and environmental consulting companies, among others.)

To really get something secure, though, you need to be an instructor and get a position as a Diving Safety Officer in one of these settings.
 
I've done quite a bit of scientific sample collection, and it can be really fun or really boring. Fun: being towed around on an underwater sled, dropping off to lift bag giant clams and other samples to the surface. Boring: diving to 55meters twice a day for 12 days straight in a thermonuclear bomb crater with 1 meter vis pushing sampling tubes by hand into talcum-like sediment. Done a few film shoots too and they are usually a lot of fun.
