Does anyone know if any of our flights were scheduled on the 737 MAX? American Airlines sent an email out today and this is part of it:

"To avoid last-minute changes and to accommodate customers on other flights with as much notice as possible before their travel date, we have made the decision to extend our cancellations for the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft through August 19, 2019, while we await recertification of the MAX."

We are flying from FL to LAX on American Airlines but I don't know which Boeing we are supposed to be on. I know Fiji Airlines flies Boeing jets, but again, I don't know if it's the 737 MAX.

Maybe planes need to be shuffled around and that's why we don't have flight info yet???

We checked with Maduro this morning about flights and got the following reply. see below

As of right now – there are no flights from the US on any 737 MAX all the way into August.
Some flights have been shuffled around because of this and, I am sure, other reasons as well.
The minute I get the air info I will let everyone know. I am just as anxious to finalize this as
the crew members are.

Do not worry we are monitoring this issue.

We have all kinds of faith in you, Roxanne, and Roxanne at Maduro.

I was thinking the same, i sent Roxanne at Maduro an email this morning asking if she had sent out any info on flights yet, the response i got was "Not yet, any day now"
Yeah that is what she told me as well. Thank for checking!

I do believe the Boeing MAX8 can fly from LAX to Nadi without refueling. Here's part of an article I found:

Fiji Airways’ first 737 MAX 8 aircraft is named “Island of Kadavu,” a name previously held by one of Fiji Airways’ 737-800s. Boeing has assured the airline that the aircraft’s fuel efficiency and range would garner profits and pay immediate dividends, in addition to helping them improve its operation and route network.

Hi, I did some research on this and we are on an Airbus 330-200 from LAX to Fiji. No Max 8 for us.

So to everyone wondering about Fiji Air tickets, this is what I was told this morning by Roxanne at Maduro.

Hi, Stephanie;

Group contracts are a little different than regular retail tickets. Air Fiji is holding space for you and the group and

they will be issuing the tickets. If this particular contract allowed me to issue the tickets I would have done so.

I know the group is anxious but it will be all settled shortly.

Kindest regards,

Thirty Four Days and counting!! I am so excited. Just went back and looked at several of the Fiji videos again. Love the one that shows several new creatures that are now a "must find" on my bucket list!! Still debating on which wetsuit to take, and trying to understand adapters vs converters!!

I have all of my camera gear batteries in a "fanny pack" in my carry on. I can wear it around my waist (under my shirt) if need be. Also carry on my pink rain jacket that has huge pockets! Pockets can also be loaded up if I am overweight! I will be the gal waddling around with big bulges!!
