Going to dive BHB (first time) in late June for two days. What is the best way to maximize diving time while down there? Will stay near the bridge. Four of us.

Depending on tides (you will dive bhb around high tide) plan in some boat dives. You might get a day and night dive in at bhb if tides are right. Boats go out in the morning and afternoon so you should be able to work around tides at bhb.

It will depend on the days. I have attached a tide chart. No good opportunity for a night dive. Night dive ops are early and mid June. Sunday the 30th gives you the opportunity for two dives though. The next day, July 1st, looks to be the day for a night dive.

With later afternoon high tides, morning boat dives will be no problem to include in your trip.

Park backwards in the parking lot and right infront of either one of the 2 shower pedestal posts & bring a "sand matt".

With four you may want to hire a guide/spotter/flag-carrier from Force-e or Pura Vida, especially if you plan photography. They know how to find all the cool stuff.

When we did this dive we hired Scuba Jenny on this board as a guide.
Totally worth it and have her booked when we return in 2020.

Our dive with her was 139 minutes and could have been longer.

@tridacna , if you have ever dove maclearie park bhb is like that only bigger, deeper, and things to actually see.

A guide is helpful. Lately I am partial to the east side. You can enter all the way to the right, head straight out to the snorkel trail, and follow it east until you hit the pilings and bridge over there.

Done the blind underwater crawl that parades as a dive spot in Belmar many times. Thanks for advice.

Don't get me wrong - bhb is definitely worth traveling for. Just using maclearie as an example of general conditions and similar depth, entry etc.
