Don't get me wrong - bhb is definitely worth traveling for. Just using maclearie as an example of general conditions and similar depth, entry etc.

I figured. Just not looking fwd to Maclearie this season. :vomit: Every year I go at least two or three times. I have no idea why...

Second the recommendation to hire a guide from one of the two local shops for your first time - we did that on our first trip there and it was well worth it to get the lay of the land and learn how things work there.

Never a doubt about that! Thanks.

Kind of related to topic- can start a new thread if needed, but how much was it to hire a guide? Got quoted $130 to hire a buddy to tag along with on a BHB night dive. I didn’t go for it- that’s pretty much boat dive money to me

For that money, I would recommend you go on a dive boat
