I'm doing a much more comprehensive write up, but I thought everyone would appreciate a condensed recounting as well as how I'm healing.
Friday evening, right about dusk I stepped into the unlit infinity pool drain. Since there was no protective grate, I went down 3 ft or so and broke both my left tibia and fibia. The Invasion Crew banded together and got me splinted up, on a chaise and on the boat. An hour and a half later we got to land. Dan procured a van, since the car they wanted to drive me in was a Honda. ANother hour and a half and I was in the Private Hospital. I had pain off and on, but mostly when someone tried to pick up my leg by the foot. Dan (@Moose) stayed the whole night as did two of the staff from Beqa Lagoon. Dan worked tirelessly being a liaison between my needs, the hospital and DAN. Saturday night, the good Doctor installed two plates and 14 screws. The pain ceased for the most part, at this point. Most of the hospital staff was great. There was one incredibly unhelpful nurse, but she's gone now.
Filo visited me every single day. Wow!

After a couple days of recovery, I was discharged without crutches and put up here:
DAN put us on a different flight. Dan and I went from Fiji to New Zealand to Houston to Jacksonville and then to Dan's house in Orlando by car. 34 hours of being uncomfortable. I could not have made it without Dan. I drove myself home from there...
Since I got home in SE Suwanee County, I've been trying to stay in my recliner, but it's hard. I've been taking my time to repair my zero turn, so I can mow my lawn and maybe I'll finish tomorrow and get started. It's been 1.5 months and it's about to get out of hand. I started wearing a rocker boot last Saturday and it really stabilizes my leg and has eliminated the swelling. It's just over three weeks and I can't wait to get in the water. It should be FUN.
