Hey guys,
After getting my harness all set-up on my freedom plate it keeps slipping at the hip where it threads through the backplate
Just wondering if anyone else has that problem and how you fix it. The thing with the Freedom plate is that it’s so smooth and shiny at the corners and in the slots that I was thinking maybe that’s why it’s happening because it doesn’t happen on my DSS rig. Also I’m using some webbing from Vintage Double House which is not as stiff as the DSS stuff.

Maybe I just need to buy some stiffer webbing?

Kasey.

I can't speak for the freedom plate, but I found that my D-rings would slide on the softer webbing, and that was even using the ones with teeth. I'd start with the stiffer webbing. Piranha now carries the stiff webbing in a variety of colors.

@Kasey Kohler The DSS rigs are unique with their antislip compound on the plate. Most backplates use slide locks behind the plate to keep them from slipping. I would recommend putting a slidelock/triglide on the back of the plate and you'll be much happier

You could just put tri-glides on the straps behind the plate.

Many Freedom Plate owners prefer the webbing to slide for easy adjustments, but I like mine to stay put. I use plastic tri-glides and tubular webbing to prevent the harness from moving and fraying. It’s also a great place to add D-rings for slinging bottles or extra gear.
