Sorry for the limited info but a friend bought a TG 5 with a Seafrogs housing. On our recent trip to Cozumel he could not get the pictures to focus in anytime he zoomed in. The pictures would all be blurry. If I remember correctly if you didn't. zoom they would be fine. I have the TG 4 with an Ikelite housing and do not have the problem. I played with it and tried changing the settings to mirror my camera but nothing seemed to work. Has anyone else ran into this issue with the TG 5 or know of a setting that could possibly correct this. We are going to the Keys at the end of next month and was just trying to help him out.

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps the shutter release is stiff and it's difficult to half press? Alternately in low light the lens is stopped down and ther's not enough light to focus with? Sounds odd.

to see if it's a housing issue try it without the housing in shallow water to see if behaves the same?

I am having this issue, but I have the Olympus housing. It's like it's trying to focus but just stays blurry. It does this in and out of the housing sometimes. Did you figure anything out?

No it was for a friend...hes got the 5 and it was doing it. I have a 4 and tried every setting I know of and couldn't figure it out. I even reset the camera and it was doing it still. If you figure anything out could you let me know?

Had same problem. In Settings found default MF Assist is set to MAGNIFY ON. Turn it off. The Auto Focus has difficulty if fully zoomed. Zoom out, focus, zoom in.
