Rubber Hoses - Flex over Time

Hi, just curious. Over time what happens to the flexibility of rubber regulator hoses? From new, do they "break-in", i.e. become more flexible? Or do they stiffen with age?

As a rule rubber stiffens with age. I'm not sure how many hoses are actually all rubber anymore or just the outer sheath.

Not sure. Last year we swapped out our original hoses from around 1989 and did not notice any difference.

Gotta agree, I'm still using 30 year old hoses with no ill effects.

DGX emailed all customers who may have purchased those hoses. I got such an email.

I had a 5' rubber hose fail at the crimp on out at Cocos Island last week. It probably came from DGX but we trashed it so I can't say for sure.
