A couple of related tidbits: a few years ago (2015) I was looking to rent a pontoon boat up there to get to the wrecks. I inquired at Moosehead Motorsports, located in the industrial park, and they had a boat to rent and they could put it in at the Junction boat launch, right across from the wrecks. I thought the boat popped up for sale on Craigslist a few weeks ago, but it might be worth a phone call.

Wreck Point is so close to the boat launch that it's a bit of a tease. These days I might consider just diving from my kayaks if I went back up there.

Also, one of the owners of the Chalet Moosehead (the husband, Grant) got certified last year. I stayed there and dove with him in the fall. Nice guy. His lodgings are right on the water, again across from the boat launch and the wreck site. You might talk to him to see if he can help or has suggestions.

During my weekend visit, I drove up to the Rockwood boat launch and did a shore dive from there. Very interesting, lots of junk and bottles in the water to poke through, and a small speedboat that someone deposited on the bottom and did not retrieve.

Grant and I entered the lake on his shorefront and made the short swim over to the point of land that is the boat launch/park. More debris and bottles.

Hi there - glad to hear your interested in Moosehead Lake diving! I founded Moosehead Lake Divers in 2015. Been a slow season this year so not much activity underwater. Itching for a few dives. Love to play dive guide so please reach out. Best sites accessible only by boat...which I have. There are lots of amazing things to see.

Thanks for much! This is great info! I also found the video you made of the wreck, great stuff, and very well preserved.

Dove the Twilight yesterday. Pretty cool wreck. One of those dives that’s very easy technically, but quite difficult logistically. Took some talking to people at various local establishments.

Diving is 20% skill, 80% logistics. I want to read how you did it, should you have the time to write about it. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

I've got a write up about visiting the TWILIGHT coming out in Wreck Diving Magazine soon. It's a great dive site.

Sure is. I wish I knew "Priscilla" and "Kineo" are just on the other side of the Shipwreck Point when I was there on Saturday. I guess I'll just leave this bit of information here for future adventurous divers.

P.S. Please post a link to the article when it comes out.
