I'm a Fish!
hi ,

Is there free lance jobs as padi dive instructor in Florida? Same as how it goes all over the world?

Is that considered as illegal action ? How far that can be ?

Please advise me from your experience.

Thanks

There are freelance jobs, but you must have the legal right to work in the USA (Green card, US citizenship or a visa that allows working. I believe there is a type of study visa that allows work, intended to help you support yourself while studying in the US)

The pay for freelance instructors in the USA generally is also VERY low. I doubt there are many freelancers actually earning a living without needing a "real" job.

You can't throw a rock without hitting three instructors and a course director. Freelancing would be a fun job on the side. To make a living you need to know how to mate a boat, basic diesel and compressor maintenance, vip tanks, regulator maintenance.

To make it freelance you need to be a subject matter expert and/or well known for something like sidemount or adv wreck diving. You would have to earn a name for yourself and that isn't easy.
