Buying BCD on DiveInn

Don’t. Buy in the US. Do you really want no local warranty service and having to deal with shipping overseas if you have issues?

My understanding is if product did not go thru US distributor then no warranty as the distributor is responsible for any claims on defects. Why should a distributor back a warranty issue when they did not put their markup on it ?

I know and I agree 100%. I can't imagine that the discount will be worth this much trouble and effort at all.

and then they complain about the manufacturer on here that they cannot get warranty service on their purchase.

I've bought various things from ScubaStore/DiveInn, mostly because those items aren't available here in Japan, or are TWICE as expensive locally. Some markup I can live with and will always preferentially buy locally, but there are limits.

So far the only issue I've had is some relatively inexpensive items which arrived with defects. Rather than replacing them, they refunded me the money. As they were part of an order, I wasn't out of pocket for shipping. So not 100% happy about that one but acceptable.

OTOH, I've just had an item break, which the manufacturer admitted is a known fault, and am currently seeing whether DiveInn will support me with that or not. To be honest, I wasn't expecting an answer from the manufacturer either, just sent them an email with the details as an FYI and that I was unhappy with the longevity of the item.
