What @Vicko said. As a matter of fact I'm going to Vis in two weeks.
As for Montenegro I dove only northern part of coast. There are nice locations from island Mamula down to village Bigovo. Didn't venture further south.
One thing, though. In my experience, marine life is better in Vis and Croatia in general (apart from Istria) than Montenegro.
In Bosnia, there are few options, none really great IMO. There is river Una, which is crystal clear, but fairly shallow, Neretva (about the same). There is a artificial Neretva lake, but have no information about conditions. Both Neretva river and lake are cold through all year. This Saturday I should go and dive in Bileća lake, which is supposed to be clear and deep. Have no idea about plant/fish life.
Serbia.....not really familiar, dove on only two locations. One is Ada Ciganlija, which is a dammed part of Sava river, right in the middle of capital, Belgrade. The other is an artificial lake called Zaovine, beautiful scenery around the lake. But, at this moment it is completely drained, have no idea how situation will develop during this year.
Since you are beginner (at least your profile say so) I guess you're not interested in this, only five clicks from my home?

No way, cave diving is waaaayyyyy above my capabilities. I would love to, but my wife would beat my corpse to death if I do something stupid and die in a cave.
You?
w good training is fine... U know some guys who do it in bih?
Your wife have shure kids, from that point statisticly all women w kids have fobia of cave diving

I know guys that provided logistics during explorations of local springs. I "know" a guy that is cave diver, but can't really tell you his credentials. If interested, can give you contact details.
I agree it is fine with right training, all I am saying is that I am not competent enough to take that training. And, part with my wife still stands valid.

Do you mean Crete in Greece?
In the east part of the island (Agios Nikolaos area) there are supposed to be the ruins of an ancient city/village submerged so you can dive through them - but I haven't been there either so I can't comment.

I'll have to ask the oldest sponge diver on Kalymnos about that. I do know that he gave the location of an ancient wreck to JYC in the 1960's. If an area is open to diving (must be very careful about that), then I definitely would like to explore it.
