Not entirely. According to posters here the chance of a bend is less than 1:1000, 10000 or 100000. So 0.75% ought to be sobering.

True, but a) the number to compare with is what was expected by their model and b) it is not clear that they've actually collected 40K dives over 5 years and 300 of those resulted in DCS.
 
I understand that, but higher BMI generally equates to higher body fat content.

Only in America (tm) -- it generally equates to higher body fat content because the population is generally too fat.
