any fresh water in the tap has chlorine in it as well it how they make it safe to drink .when you go to a pool and you think you smell strong chlorine it is actually chloramine a gas that is spent off when the bio load is to great for the pool .how do you get rid of it by upping your chlorine levels

Man I know that feeling! Although without the scooter. Just got my kiddo certified last month so now he's officially official. And yep....in the community pool! HOA can kiss my fat white......personality!

Dose makes the poison. Upper limit for drinking water is 4ppm,(1) while pools target 3 ppm.(2) ( Looking at my county's water report show this moth they were dosing to 2.5 ppm, while over the summer they were mostly over 3.2 ppm.

Its quite possible that a pool has lower chlorine level than the tap...

also an interesting video : also covers the "pool smell"
