I’m in Mexico a lot these days, splitting diving between the caves in Tulum and the weird stingy-eye water of Cozumel. I was thinking of opening an HSBC checking account just for use in Mexico to avoid ATM fees, but saw this in the fine print:

14 You may be charged additional fees by the ATM operator or network used including a fee by another HSBC entity operating ATMs outside the U.S. Foreign currency conversion rates may still apply

Anybody opened an HSBC account in the US and successfully used the ATMs in Mexico fee-free?

Schwab account. All fees are reimbursed.

My cousin that manages my accounts at Morgan Stanley night disown me if I open a Schwab account :)
If manage enough of your money MS should have same offer...ask!

You will be asked to open a brokerage account before you can open the checking account.

The checking account is great! All fees are reimbursed. No pressure from Schwab to invest with them in brokerage accts
