Well, I sliced them off with an Xacto knife. I'll be diving the Tuesday, so I'll be able to see if that fixes the wet breathing issue.

Just off the top of my head, I can think of a few reasons for water intrusion, that have nothing whatsoever to do with those tabs -- everything from a defective o-ring; a damaged diaphragm; an old mouthpiece, perhaps; or, especially, in my experience, dirt or grit under the exhalation diaphragm . . .
 
One of the problems some think the Odin/Jetsream are wet breathers stems for the way they clear them. Make sure the reg is horizontal or slightly 'downhill ' when clearing it. IMO, the only better reg is their Xtreme which is a downsized version of the Odin. (In size not performance)

The only time I have ever noticed wet breathing with Jetstreams, stemmed from gravel or other detritus, trapped under the membrane. Other than that, dry as a bone . . .
