I'm planning a cold water training dive in Lake Tahoe and would like to find the Alley Cat, a sunken sailboat in Hurricane Bay on the California side. Supposed to be in 60-70 feet of water. Does anyone have info on compass points and landmarks in order to find it?

Thanks,

Jim

The Alley Cat is easy to find. Park along the beach at the intersection of West Lake Blvd./ Mankato Place in Hurricane Bay. Gear up and head straight out, when you hit 60ft contour look to your right and you will swim right to it.

Here is a Alley Cat video made 6 years ago

You will not need a compass. There are two pull outs for parking. Park on the south end of the northern pull out and it will be straight off shore about 1-2 minutes into the dive.

There are a lot of sunken boats in Tahoe, but most of them are really deep. That's how they disposed of them years ago, pull the plug and give it a push.
