The refund thing is going to hurt them more than they can imagine I fear.

With your government closing its borders (no objection to that), and seeing the response from Curacao tourism entities not allowing refunds, I am somewhat hesitant to ever repeat a visit. This is after three trips over the last two years, and planned many more.

dushi seems a misnomer...

Did they offer postponement? Also, which place?

Are these comments in reference to the posts by Ocean Encounters, LionsDive and Sunscape on the Curacao site, offering free rescheduling, but not refunds?

For me, it’s a VRBO house, saying no refund and a fee, about 20% to reschedule, once flights are cancelled that may change but I have my doubts, they haven’t even agreed to the cleaning deposit refund!

Dive bus is at 50% refund or reschedule.

I haven’t talked to American Airlines yet, it is the biggest chunk.

You will be able to cancel your AA flight and reschedule with no fees. I recently did this for a trip to Bonaire scheduled for April 3-17.

Best of luck with the other costs

I'm not trying to be snarky to you (we always have great and intelligent dialogue), but do you know my financial status (or others facing this)? Do you know if I or my wife have lost our jobs with this? Do you know if I am able to make mortgage, vehicle, education, food, etc. payments?

Is it just them that are impacted by this?

it is in reference to the post above mine saying "hey, think about us"....

Air Canada isn't being terribly user friendly right now. It is interesting as I can't enter Canada to get the flight, and even if the flight is going, it has the challenge of Curacao banning North Americans from entering...

The VBRO facility is similar to what @lexvil has posted....

Car rental.... uncharted territories....

This is all x3 as it was a family trip...

edit - I din't mind my last trip with a member getting sick, and scrubbing dives costing me a couple hundred, but a couple thousand at this time, or any for that matter, isn't something I'm happy to give up. The same reason I have no desire to ever set foot in a Casino.

YMMV

The impact is going to touch everyone, we’ve lost a lot in the stock market. My point is more and more people will also be very hesitant to commit money toward travel when the people who received those payments refuse to work with people when things change, no one is able to know the future but travel will probably be severely impacted by this.

That hesitance is what I was referring to.
