Yes, but the flattening is taking place as they move out of the hottest months.

However, it will be interesting to see how they fare as they move deeper into the winter though, their 'normal' flu season. Fingers crossed for them / other southern hemisphere countries (well, all countries actually)!

“As Singapore has shown, even successful countries can have another wave if precautions are relaxed,” says Melbourne University Professor John Mathews, a former deputy chief medical officer to the Australian government. “Even good strategies can fail due to bad luck.”

LUCK plays NO part in Singapore.

How about Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand?
Summer hasn't arrived in HK and Republic of China yet.

Taiwan ROC is doing fine. Apart from an outbreak from the Navy who visited infected foreign ports and brought a large number of cases back there are no lock downs in Taiwan, life goes on as normal for most people. One of the best countries to be in during the pandemic in the rest of the world. Great health care system that is cheap and very very good. Masks are also cheap and people wear them everywhere. Taiwanese learned from SARS and supported all the governments policies put in place to protect them.

Location tracking was used to identity where infected people had been so those places and people who had been there were warned. Testing was available for people who needed it and quarantine locations opened. Also fines for not following quarantine orders are in the tens of thousands of US$ and were meted out to those who broke quarantine. One stupid 18 year old young man working at a gas station coughed and spat on a customer claiming he had the virus. He was hit with a US$100,000 fine after the government warned about people playing stupid pranks.

ROC has set a good example for the rest of the world!
No need for WHO.
HK could had done a lot better but because of the politically stupidity of the HKSAR Gov.
There are couple thousands of ethnic Indian and Pakistan HKongers over in India and Pakistan and they are asking to be repatriated back to HK!!!!!!
They have every right to return to HK but how many of them are actually regarding HK as their HOME?
We repatriated several hundred HKongers from Wuhan area back to HK in early Apr.
There are a lot of HKongers all over the world and plenty of them have never regarded HK as their HOME. In time of trouble they will remember HK.
Some of them can even claim all those benefits that the Gov have been dishing out without making any contribution to HK whatsoever!

Malaysia will indeed extend lockdown into May. It is a muslim country and the fasting month of Ramadan has just begun. At the end of the fasting month is the festival of Eid Al-Fitr. Lockdown will be ended just before Eid.

Look at the countries that are closest to Thailand in population:
Iran - 84 million
Germany - 84 million
Thailand - 70 million
UK - 68 million
France - 65 million
Source: Population by Country (2020) - Worldometer

Now compare the Covid-19 infection and death rates for these countries as of a few moments ago:
Iran - 87,026 and 5,481
Germany - 153,129 and 5,575
Thailand - 2,839 and 50
UK - 138,078 and 18,783
France - 158,183 and 21,856
Source: Coronavirus Update (Live): 2,725,920 Cases and 191,061 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer

America has a population of about 330 million. This is about 5 times more than Thailand. Multiply Thailand's Covid-19 infection and death numbers and compare them with America's numbers.

Anyone who picks on Thailand to criticise their Covid-19 response is ABSOLUTELY STARK RAVING DELUSIONAL.

I haven't been able to understand how Thailand's numbers could be so low. I'm completely baffled.

I think timing has a part in it. Catch it early. The other may be adequacy of testing.

WHO has a testing benchmark of 10% - positive tests should not exceed 10% of total tests. See Which States Are Doing Enough Testing? This Benchmark Helps Settle The Debate

The testing rate for different countries can be seen here: COVID-19 testing - Wikipedia
