The black chrome 109 and 108 are wow. Not sure I have seen pictures of those before.
 
I vaguely remember the orange exhausts being marketed as safety seconds. Looking through my old stuff I discovered an unused Balanced Adjustable conversion kit with the shiny new named faceplate and detailed instructions.

Yes, there were orange tees and mouthpieces for the secondary reg.
Initially you had always to buy a complete reg, 1st and 2nd stage... Only around 1980 it started to be possible to buy just an additional second stage.
