I will post a daily question from my exams to help newer divers and to encourage more experienced divers to interact gracefully and helpfully with the newer divers.

Reminder - this is a post in the Basic Forum and it is a green zone. Please be nice and on topic.

Thank you for your patience while we try to give people something to discuss other than Covid-19 and/or Politics. I will post the answer covered by the spoiler tag later today.

Didn't you read the answers? It says it plain as day. And who says it's larger? Are you trying to be a spoiler?

Have a GREAT day!

Cheers,

No doubt someone will mention visual reversal and ask what % of time you're looking at close stuff vs. far away stuff, or what % of time you're diving in more turbid or less turbid water.

But the shark was this big! Huge! Almost ate my arm!

c. closer / 4:3

Light passing through the water / air interface refracts (bends). The effect is similar to an object being viewed under a magnifying glass. If no other factors come into play, objects will appear closer by a ratio of about 4:3.
