@JMBL Yes, I limit myself to 6 m.
I can do a 15 minute excursion to 15 m but only once every 24 hours.
I am not going to being doing that now that I am 56 yrs old. o_O
 
Cool. What is the cylinder sitting between the breathing hoses for.
If I understand your question correctly, that would be the DSV (DIVE SURFACE VALVE).
That's the mouth piece that you breath through.
It can also be closed so that water won't flood out your system when you take the mouth piece out of your mouth underwater.

That's a combat diver procedure :eek: I wouldn't dare. Besides, my instructor would throw me out of the class :D

On the case itself, with several slits, between where the hoses exit the case, and where the SPG of the LAR V normally is.
 
That's a bubble diffuser.
This system can operate as a Semi-Closed Rebreather if I use Nitrox and install a means of measuring PPO2 (Oxygen) levels.
