BCD Lash Tab Replacement

I'm looking to replace some lash tabs on my BCD. They were originally sewn on but I can't do that now without puncturing the bladder. I have some E6000 but it has the smell of acetone and I'm concerned it's too harsh for the nylon. Any recommendation on how to bond a plastic lash tab to ripstop nylon?

Any recommendation on how to bond a plastic lash tab to ripstop nylon?

Maybe sew the tab onto a similar piece of ripstop fabric bigger than the actual tab, then glue the new fabric onto the old fabric with a liberal coating of Aquaseal or another adhesive? Picturing something like the way pockets are glued onto wetsuits.
