Just curious- has anyone heard anything else about potential reopening?

Just curious- has anyone heard anything else about potential reopening?

They have just opened the islands internally with required recent negative test to travel to the Sister islands. If going to Grand from the Sister Islands for longer than three days you must have a negative test before returning to the Sister Island. Until Florida gets it’s act together, I would not count on the September date for reopening, unless there was a rapid test that could be done prior to boarding. Of course there might be flights from safer parts of the country.

The September date was simply for the ports to reopen. Not a plan for tourists. It is likely it will facilitate the many students who go to Europe etc to college etc. The premier has suggested from the very outset that hopefully we would reopen for visitors towards the end of the year and that was long before the situation in US got to where it is now. Returning residents are still required to do 14 days quarantine in a gov run facility. A friend went into one on Friday after coming back on an evac flight to MIA. Some visitors who have flown in privately have managed to get a few of those coveted spots. No one who works in or is a part of the industry is expecting visitors from overseas in September. In fact there are still evac flights taking WP holders who work in the industry off island. Just visit gov.ky for accurate updates. But remember just because the ports including airports open, it does not mean business as usual. We will be happy if it means we get mail :).

You don’t.

So effectively, still shutdown.

Interesting that this has been determined already. How about letting the testing continue before making the comments. Works just fine for swimming etc
