Welcome @SloppyJoe! It looks like we are located in the same neck of the woods and as you know, there are dives going out every weekend on the Central Coast through either SLODivers on FB or Central California Bubbleheads on FB. Once you get accustomed to the lower viz, there is alot of cool stuff to see locally, plus throw in some Ventura dive boats and periodic trips to Monterey.. you can be diving year-round (except maybe certain weekends during the brief storm and rain period from Feb-April). You will no doubt get a ton of great advice in these forums. Cheers.
