Is it possible to be banned from a thread? I've heard of site banning but not thread banning. Curious.

Very well possible from personal experience, just give an opinion against pet vendors that are favorites to SB owners.

If someone gets banned from a thread, is there any kind of notification in that thread?

Of course you can be banned from a thread for bad behavior, violations of TOS. Violators are generally informed of their deleted threads and the reason(s)

Neither. No bans for moi. Asking for a “friend”. Another thread. Something about the flu. A mod vaccinated the thread.
