With Pura Vida Divers on MV Aurelia yesterday, having had both COVID vaccines plus two weeks. Dive op did a good job of working with the current transportation/maritime requirements for public health safety precautions; there were 8 divers and 3 crew. This was my first dive in almost exactly a year. First dive site Flower Gardens, second dive on Window 4 (Breakers). Water temps around 74; rain/thunderstorms topside. Wore a 5mil, hood, and a heated vest (that I used!), and was still chilled. Visibility was a little lower than what I remember as 'average', I didn't focus on the camera much while I was refamiliarizing myself with more basic stuff. The group saw a couple of lemon sharks sleeping under the reef; a couple of Goliath's; two spotted eels and at least one shy green moray. Saw a few garden eels in the sand after we ran off the reef on the second dive. Was great to be back in the water.

Glad you were able to get back in the water. Thanks for the report!

Thnx for sharing

I have a Thermulation vest I used to use under my drysuit back in the Midwest/Great Lakes when diving in water in the 40s. I've never used it under my wetsuit. I know technically it's supposed to be capable but I could never mentally get over the thought of using it under a wetsuit. Maybe I'll give it a try one of these days.

Used mine more under my wetsuit than my dry suit and worked fine. in fact it made me prefer my wet suit in when I could decide which to wear. Probably has several hundred dives and was loaned out a lot so I would expect a newer one would last a long time.
