There were a few different sites reporting, one said a snorkeler but most said scuba, but it seems he was solo diving so not much available on the incident.

Police investigate man's death at Encounter Bay
Police say they are investigating the sudden death of a man at Encounter Bay after he was returning from scuba diving on Saturday morning.

They said the 52-year-old Morphett Vale man had spent time diving near the lake's inlet off Franklin Parade during the morning and was returning to the beach when he collapsed about 11am.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Walking back in from a shore dive, particularly in colder southern waters can be a very physical task.

Possible fatigue from the dive plus walking back the gear triggered a medical episode.

doubtful we will find out the result unless it goes to an inquest.

No mention that the person was out of the water and walking. It is implied he was still in the water.

The 57-year-old man had been scuba diving and collapsed while returning to the beach, along Franklin Parade, police said.
"He's come off the beach and as he's come off the beach he's suffered a medical episode and sadly his life couldn't be saved," Acting Police Commissioner Linda Williams said on Saturday.
