Try reading the bit about holding the wing down instructor boy

For this chestmount a plate is not as comfortable as a harness and doesn't permit the weight required

If you're going to troll—at-least keep it relevant to the original post. What is this amateur hour?

I am surprised no one hasn’t told you yet, you’re going to die if you do that.

You get a chance to use the gloves at depth yet?

25 feet still no issues so I'm pretty sure I won't have any. I don't have anything deep planned for a few months.

I’m never quite sure what he’s really trying to say. I’ve given up trying to figure it out.

I don't know but everyone should probably listen to hardattack. After all, he's a GUE instuctor and he's cool enough to use "bro" in a sentence.

I have a 40 pound evolve wing. Last minute trip to warm water.

Can I use the 40 pound with a single steel 100?

I the larger double wings will taco but not sure about the small ones.
What is you option other than buying a new one?
I would use it but will pay extra attention on dumping the air especially on ascend. You never know where the air in being trapped inside.
Would you have any use for a smaller wing in the future?

See how this Zeagle Ranger has a system to hold the wing down

I have dove single ali 80's with a 40# wing be for in a pinch, its not ideal but it can be done but honestly I did not notice that much of a difference. Yes it does taco but if this is a one time last minute trip then I would not worry about it. a 40# wing is not that big and like happy-diver has shown with his clips you could always come up with some kind of DIY clip (you can buy these and smaller webbing at about REI type outdoors store) or bungee system to hold the wing down if the taco factor is bothering you that much.

I guess it just depends on how often your going to dive singles. If you plan on diving them alot then yes like others have suggested yo might want to buy a dedicated single tank wing, there are several 30#'ish wings out that that are inexpensive and good quality the DGX and deep 6 ones are nice. I really like the Argonaut wings, I have an 18# tropical water one and love it!

Regardless of the approach, I believe that what Happy was pointing out originally were the fastex clips that Zeagle uses to keep the wing held to the harness at it's widest point (addressing the OPs concern about a wide wing taco-ing).

Respectfully,

James
