Trip Report Davis reef Islamorada 6-23-21

[deeper thoughts]

Seas were a 1 to 2 foot swell becoming mostly smooth
Viz was pretty green and at best 30 feet
No current to speak of
Water temp a toasty 83 degrees
The fish schools have become amazingly dense and in multiple areas
Green moray with 4 banded coral shrimps on it but way too deep in the coral to get a picture !
Was the only diver on the reef, later on 3 dive boats and pretty crowded
Coral plantings seem to be progressing nicely
Hopefully a few pix to post later this evening

@deeper thoughts depending on the time, I was probably on one of the 3 dive boats that showed up.

I was on CRD's boat today, we did Davis and Forever. We were supposed to do conch wall, but viz and current had us try 3 spots before heading to Davis.

Davis was good, viz was as you mentioned just ok, but better than yesterday at other sites.

Hopefully heading to molasses tomorrow if this weather works out!

Sitting in airport headed home.

but I noticed the pretty sporty winds as I was headed north out of keys.

The forecast was iffy but wasn’t blown out any and only 1semi sporty day. Another good trip will probably do e report in next few days.
