    Release of Cloud Desktop?

OK, keep up the good work. :) I am a software developer myself, so I fully understand. I am really looking forward to the release, but quality always comes first. :thumb:

    Release of Cloud Desktop?

Any news about when the Shearwater Cloud Desktop will be released?. The latest info was "end of summer 2017", but in my opinion summer has ended and it is autumn already :D

Indonesia - Raja Ampat, photos shot with 7D

Where did you dive then? Our entire route was: Ambon, Nusa Laut, Banda Islands, Pulau Koon, Misool, Dampier Strait, Sorong. Out of these Misool was the best area in terms of corals and fishes, also visiblity was good. Right after that I would rate the Banda Islands, and there visibility...

Indonesia - Raja Ampat, photos shot with 7D

Maybe I should rephrase that. Tokina 10-17 of course suits almost any divesite at RA, except on nightdives. But you won't be shooting anything small with it, just pretty big things & reefscapes, and anything mid-sized at a ridiculously close range. For example a scorpionfish needs to be almost...

Indonesia - Raja Ampat, photos shot with 7D

At Dampier Strait and Waigeo we were from 19th to 21st March. As far as I know, we were able to dive all the planned sites: Manta Mantra, Citrus Ridge, Arborek Jetty, Sardine Reef, Mioskon, Blue Paradise, Friwibonda, Mike's Point, Cape Kri, P-47 bomber at P.Wai. We didn't see other divers or...

"Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM", which Ikelite port?

And here is "final proof" that the Sigma 17-70mm works really well with the Ikelite #5510.16 + #5510.54 + #5510.45 port system (8" dome with basic zoom body and 1.25") extension. You can shoot a Manta Ray at 17mm setting (wide angle): or you can shoot a Pygmy Seahorse at 70mm (Macro)...

Indonesia - Raja Ampat, photos shot with 7D

Here is a small selection of photos I shot with the Canon 7D on a two week liveaboard trip on MSY Seahorse, March 2011. The route we took was from Ambon to Sorong: Nusa Laut, Banda Islands, Pulau Koon, Misool, Waigeo, Dampier Strait. A total of 38 dives. The 7D was in Ikelite housing, I had...

"Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM", which Ikelite port?

I now found by experimentation the working port for this lens. I am sharing the information just in case someone else needs the info. The #5510.16 + #5510.54 (zoom body and 1.25" extension) with the 8" dome works very nicely at all focal lenghts. I just tested it at pool and it fully meets...

"Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM", which Ikelite port?

I suppose the most flexible solution is to get a 5510.16 port body, and all the extensions 5510.50, .54 and .58. That way I could try all lengths at half inch increments and see which works the best. This is not of course the cheapest way to do it...:D

    Tokina 10-17mm port?

the 8" dome with extrawide body works perfectly with the Tokina 10-17. you need to be careful to avoid flare though at 10 mm. the same port does work also with the canon 60 mm macro at close distances but the lens will not focus beyond a few meters, not in autofocus anyway. you can use the zoom...

"Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM", which Ikelite port?

Brett, thanks for your comments. One more question: Is the 5510.25 port body (intended for Olympus/Zuiko 7-14mm) between the lengths of 5510.24 and 5510.28? It appears that 5510.25 comes with a special zoom sleeve for the Zuiko, but is there anything else special? So might the 5510.25 be worth...

"Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM", which Ikelite port?

I have a great desire to take my "Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM" lens underwater with my Canon 7D in Ikelite housing. I would use it on occasions where I'm not sure whether to put on a wide-angle lens (Tokina 10-17mm) or macro (Canon 60mm), so this lens would give me some flexibility...

    Housing weight and buoyancy.

For ideas how to get rid of arm strain, look at this thread at wetpixel: Looking for longer strobe arms - Wetpixel :: Underwater Photography Forums The Ikelite arms were too short for me with the wide fisheye lens, giving flare and backscatter, and the rig was too heavy to handle in water. So I...

    Housing weight and buoyancy.

I have done weight and buoyancy measurements with my rig at the pool (non-saline water). Following are the results, weights in metric grams (g). 1 ounce (oz.) is 28.3 grams. 1 kg = 1000 g. 1 lb. = 16 oz. For salt water, there will be 3...4% difference in buoyancy. lens: Canon 60mm EF-S macro...

    Thanks for great repair service

The live-view/movie-rec lever on my Ikelite Canon 7D housing broke after a few months of usage. I consulted Ikelite about the issue by email and was advised to send it back for repair. I did that and also requested that the lever be replaced by an ordinary push-button as I personally think that...

    Canon 7D lens

I have a 7D in Ikelite housing. I started with the Tokina 10-17mm fisheye in the 8" dome port. I think it is a really good wide-angle lens to begin with if you are shooting marine life. I even use it on wreck and personally like the fisheye effect. For the next lens I got the Canon 60mm EF-S...

Any reviews on the Ikelite DS161 movie

Indeed, the LED lights on the DS161 do not quite give wide enough coverage for the Tokina fisheye at 10mm, even if you have two of them. If you zoom the Tokina to 17mm and get really close (like fishes almost touching your dome), then they would be OK. The video lights probably would suit well...

Any reviews on the Ikelite DS161 movie

I bought two DS161 strobes together with the Ikelite housing for a Canon 7D last May. I used them for a 10 day liveaboard trip at the Red Sea. I used a Tokina 10-17mm fisheye during the whole trip, and mostly took pictures, about 2000 of them. I also shot about 30 minutes of HD-videos. For...

    Greetings from Helsinki, Finland

Hi there, just joined :D Greetings from Helsinki, Finland. Here we dive in the Baltic Sea, the water is cold (right now 8 deg C) and we use drysuits. Visibilty isn't too good and it is dark, but it sure is good practice :14:. I have also dived a lot in the Read Sea, and a little in Thailand...
